GOAL 2024 Virtual Meeting

The GOAL 2024 Program Committee* has developed another fantastic line-up of speakers and topics for Tuesday, January 30, 2024, 12:00p-4:00pET (and post-conference breakout/small groups!):

  • Overviews of a New Education Initiatives:
    • Genomics for Fellows and Interesting Case Conferences, Melissa Tjota (Univ of Chicago)
    • Informatics Boot Camp Program, Somak Roy (Cincinnati Children's Hospital)
  • Utilization of the GOAL Probes

Additionally, the program includes a crowd-sourced, interactive landscape polling discussion session on lab automation. Be sure to respond with comments/concerns in the Zoom registration process: What are your questions and/or challenges on automation to help the organizers frame the polling session? 

Similar to last year’s pilot event, we will have a “Vendor Showcase” in which generous discounts for GOAL members will be revealed in concurrent breakout Zoom lines. Please attend to support and engage with our vendors, to receive the best GOAL-member additional discount for your lab, and to help support future group discounts on future products from multiple vendors! 

Finally, while the program is formally scheduled for 12:00p-4:00pET, please block out your schedule afterwards for networking and/or continuing small-group breakout room discussions, such as automation, methylation, ctDNA handling, beta-testers for a potential new communication platform, other work groups, or any other hot topics that organically develop throughout the event!

Registration is free, but only open to members in labs participating in GOAL. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis. We strongly encourage GOAL labs to invite trainees (fellows and/or residents) if they are involved with your lab and/or mentorship.

GOAL Monthly Café for Technical Help

An open forum to come and seek and offer technical guidance, ask questions about GOAL, suggest projects, share experiences on challenges and successes, etc.! Scheduled usually the first Tuesdays (3:00pm ET) or Fridays (12:00pm ET) alternating monthly. Next scheduled GOAL Café is scheduled for Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
